In case you didn't know, an HTPC is a "Home Theater Personal Computer." It's generally a small, quiet, low-powered device whose sole purpose is to play movies, music, and other multimedia with the highest quality possible. Some people like to build multi-purpose HTPCs. Usually, these multi-purpose builds will combine HTPC functionality with light gaming capabilities, or HTPC and file server capabilities. If all you want to do is just play movies and music on a TV or monitor and don't really care too much about quality, look no further than a PC On A Stick.
